Welcome to SSSD 2024 conference in Oulu
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 58th Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Society for the Study of Diabetes (SSSD) to be held in Oulu, Finland, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Oulu, on May 22-24, 2024. Abstract submission is now open.
We encourage all researchers & clinicians from the Nordic countries working within any field of diabetes to participate. Participants are encouraged to submit abstracts, and participation is guaranteed for all who have submitted an abstract. Two Outstanding Presentation Awards, each of 5000 NOK, will be awarded to the two best abstract presentations.
The programme will cover presentations of both clinical themes and basic science. Networking and social events will be incorporated throughout the meeting, to facilitate and strengthen collaborative relationships. In particular, young researchers have a great chance to meet their peers and orally present research projects in a friendly yet knowledgeable environment.
During the meeting, the annual research prizes are awarded with presentations from the prize recipients (Knud Lundbæk Award, SSSD Young Investigator Award, Novo Nordisk Foundation Lecture Prize, The Swedish Child Diabetes Foundation Nordic Prize, and The Swedish Child Diabetes Foundation’s Prize to Young Swedish Investigator).
We hope that many of you will be able to participate and look forward to seeing you in Oulu!
On behalf of the local organizing committee,
– Riitta Veijola, Professor of Pediatrics, University of Oulu and Oulu University Hospital
